With a contract expiring at the end of the season, Georginio Wijnaldum is of interest to a few clubs across Europe.

Journalist Sandro Sabatini reported Inter Milan have a ‘handshake’ agreement with the Liverpool midfielder for a summer transfer.

FcInterNews provides more details on the Nerazzurri’s stance on signing the 30-year-old.

It’s claimed Antonio Conte is ‘crazy’ about the Netherlands international and the Serie A side’s interest in him is ‘concrete at 360 degrees’.

The former Newcastle United man will not renew his contract and will leave Anfield as a free agent, according to this slant. However, it’s still not known where he will move next.

Inter started talks with the entourage of the Liverpool player a long time ago, but there’s no agreement between the two parties.

The Dutchman’s agent is asking for a four-year contract, worth €10m net per year. In addition to this, any club ready to take his client on a free transfer must pay a hefty signing-on bonus, along with the agent commission.

According to the report, no clubs will be able to ‘fulfil the economic wishes of the midfielder’s agent’.

If reports from Italy are to be believed, Inter’s owner, the Suning Holdings Group, are open to selling the club, which creates a lot of drama off the pitch.

FcInterNews state that unless the club’s ‘corporate situation is defined’, renewals of current players and signings are ‘frozen’.

Inter ‘would attack’ to sign Wijnaldum, if he’s still available in the market after the San Siro side have clarity over their ‘corporate situation’.
