Today the Sweden coach Janne Andersson named his squad for their upcoming games, with England based players Pontus Jansson and Sebastian Larsson both called up. Leeds United’s Jansson and Sunderland’s Larsson will be hoping to make their mark for different reasons.
Jansson has been a regular since Andersson took the job in the summer, but the Leeds United star has struggled to cement his place in the starting eleven. The 25-year-old has made just one start under the new coach, and Jansson will be hoping his form for Leeds United will see him get the nod.
Sunderland’s Larsson will also be looking to make an impact after missing recent Swedish squads due to injury. The attacking midfielder has missed a large chunk of the season due to a knee problem, and will be looking to force his way back into Andersson’s plans. Larsson is no longer guaranteed a place in the starting eleven.
However, Jansson and Larsson will not be joined by Swansea City’s Martin Olsson after Anderson confirmed the Swansea City star wouldn’t be involved next week. The Sweden boss revealed the ankle injury he picked up at the weekend against Hull City has ruled the player out because the medical report he received stated the player was unlikely to return.
