Late on Thursday, news emerged that Lyon had entered talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Memphis Depay, and now it’s been officially confirmed.
The Dutchman, who has barely played under José Mourinho this season, looks set to be on his way out from Old Trafford, and with a few clubs after him, the winger will have a choice to make.
West Ham were also thrown into the mix by FootMercato last night, yet it seems the Ligue 1 side have a bit of a head start.
Holding a press conference ahead of their league game against Caen on Sunday, Lyon’s manager Bruno Génésio took some time to confirm the fact there was a strong interest from his side for Memphis Depay.
He said: “I’ve made Depay a priority, he’s a complete player. Depay can also replace Rachid Ghezzal in case he leaves next summer.”

Depay has only played 134 minutes of football this season, starting just one game, a 55 minute appearance against Northampton Town in the EFL Cup.
Manchester United are said to want at least €17m for the winger, which would be a considerable loss considering they spent close to £30m for him back in 2015.
