RB Leipzig manager Domenico Tedesco has confirmed Tyler Adams said goodbye to his teammates ahead of a move to Leeds United.
Adams has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds over the last few days, with Jesse Marsch’s side continuing their summer rebuild.
A report from Germany yesterday indicated a move was close to being competed, and the American would be moving to Elland Road in a potential €20m deal.
He will become the latest in a slew of new arrivals at the Yorkshire club this summer as they spend the money brought in from the sale of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City and Raphinha’s likely departure to Barcelona or Chelsea.
The move will see Adans reunite with Marsch, who he made 71 appearances under across spells at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.
He’ll be hoping to continue that successful relationship at Leeds, and his current manager, Tedesco, has admitted he’s sorry to see the midfielder leave.
“He said goodbye to the team on Monday. The topic is finished,” RB Live report him saying.
“He was very liked here; he is a really good player and fine character, the farewell hurts.
“If a player is unhappy with his playing time, we have an extremely large number of players in the centre, then you have to understand him and fulfil his wish.”
