Portuguese manager Pedro Caixinha has again addressed the rumours which recently linked him to Sheffield Wednesday.

The 49-year-old coach has been interviewed today by Mexican outlet TUDN, and was asked where he’ll be working in the future.

Caixinha has revealed some of the countries he’s received offers from, and claims he’s still thinking about where to go next.

“We’re hoping that it can materialise, if not now, when it resumes, for the start of the next season. I’m going to tell you that this Sheffield contact did exist, there were others from Brazil, the Middle East, some in Portugal and Europe,” Pedro Caixinha told TUDN.

“We’re at that moment of being able to decide the next step, never neglecting the pleasure that I have with Mexico, because that’s where we have our preferential market, it’s where I have worked the longest and I had the greatest achievements.”

When speaking to Portuguese newspaper Record last month, Caixinha has only referred to Sheffield Wednesday’s contacts as coming ‘from third parties’, sounding like talks didn’t get to an advanced stage. His words with TUDN make it sound like something more formal came from the Championship side.

Pedro Caixinha has a little experience in British football, having managed Rangers between March and October in 2017. Following his departure from the Scottish side, the coach went to Mexico, where he managed Cruz Azul until September 2019. He’s been without a club since then.
