Sporting CP are reportedly close to signing Lazar Markovic from Liverpool.
News from this morning already said the Lions would try the transfer today, and it seems the talks have developed well.
Record claims that Sporting have intensified their contacts with Liverpool in the past few hours and the deal should bring the winger to the Portuguese club on a one-year loan. The story says that no buying clause will be included.
The Serbian player had his best years playing under Jorge Jesus at Benfica, and all parties think he could shine again under the same manager. That’s why Markovic has chosen Sporting instead of the other offers he had.
Reports from Zero Zero today said that since Markovic’s recent physical form isn’t very good, meaning there’s worry about injuries, so Sporting are afraid of risking too much money on a permanent deal right now.
Should Markovic rediscover his best then it will be great news for Liverpool, either because he can return refreshed, or because they’ll be able to get a better transfer fee.
