Needing to rush back to Colombia for a family emergency on Wednesday, David Ospina might have already played his final game for Napoli.

The Arsenal loanee, who moved to the south of Italy to get some more time under his belt, is currently two appearances short (23 and he needs 25) from having his loan made automatically permanent thanks to a clause in his contract, and it seems unlikely he’ll get them.

With just three games left in Serie A and the goalkeeper currently back home with no set date of return, Corriere dello Sport explain his future in Serie A will solely be decided by Carlo Ancelotti and Aurelio de Laurentiis.

The former Chelsea manager has made it clear publicly he would like to have the Arsenal man at his side next season, but he isn’t the one in charge of money at the club.

For now, however, the club are understanding of his situation and will wait until he can once again fully focus on football and his career before bringing up the subject.

The Arsenal goalkeeper technically has 24 appearances to his name in a Napoli shirt, but Corriere explain the one where he got knocked out against Udinese doesn’t count as he was substituted before half time.
