It’s always interesting to read some long stories which seem to be going nowhere, but suddenly end up dropping a bomb… and that’s the case for Manchester United with a claim from French.
Foot Mercato has an article write about the last few years of manager Laurent Blanc.
The 53-year-old has been unemployed since his departure from Paris Saint Germain in June 2016, and has been flirting with several jobs since then.
Blanc has a decade of experience managing Bordeaux, France and PSG, and that was enough for him to be linked to the likes of Inter Milan, Barcelona and Arsenal.
Now Foot Mercato says he was one of the two best options to take charge of Lyon, but he couldn’t find an agreement with the club since there had been conflicts about his staff.
Despite losing the job, Blanc is not done, and according to the report, he keeps an eye on the Premier League, including at the situation at Manchester United.
Foot Mercato say, according to their own information, that the manager ‘closely follows’ what’s happening in the Premier League, and ‘especially’ at Old Trafford, with the suggestion being he’s interested in the potential managerial vacancy.
