FC Lienden manager and Dutch football pundit, Hans Kraay Jr has told the Turkish media Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen would be a good signing for Feyenoord.

The Tottenham player is currently on loan with Fenerbahce, after struggling to make an impact in his debut season at White Hart Lane.

Speaking to TurksVoetbal.Net, Kraay Jnr was asked about the situation with Janssen, and the Dutchman believes he could replace Newcastle United target Nicolai Jorgensen at Feyenoord: “Vincent Janssen could be a good forward for Feyenoord when Jorgensen leaves. But they let him go when he was youth player there.”

Janssen came through the Feyenoord youth system, but failed to make the step up to the senior team. After spells with Almere City and AZ, the Netherlands international got his big move in 2016, when he signed for Tottenham.

Feyenoord would normally have trouble bringing in a player from the Premier League, but the Tottenham forward’s recent woes would help if they see him as a replacement for Jorgensen.

The Dane was linked with a move to Newcastle United in the last transfer window, but the Premier League side failed to get a deal sealed.

There were claims Newcastle United missed the deadline to come to an agreement over the signing of Jorgensen because they weren’t prepared to meet his valuation.

It was reported Newcastle United increased their bid from €14.5m to €17m late into the window, but this wasn’t enough to convince Feyenoord.
