Sporting Club de Portugal coach Ruben Amorim has insisted he was not interested in a move to Chelsea, despite reports linking him with the position.
The Blues have spent the end of this week searching for a new manager following the decision to sack Thomas Tuchel after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
The decision came as a surprise to many but had seemingly been planned for some time, with reports suggesting Chelsea owner Todd Boehly had been considering it much earlier.
That is certainly backed by the quick manner in which they have replaced Tuchel, with Brighton manager Graham Potter quickly getting the job.
Before that deal was done several names had been linked with the position, including Amorim, who is currently in charge of Portuguese side Sporting.
A report today stated that Boehly had contacted his agent about his client’s availability and Amorim has addressed that.
“The project I am in is the project I want,” O Jogo report him saying, after he was asked directly about a call from Chelsea.
“I have another year and a half of contract; Chelsea have presented a coach for the next five years.
“I am happy here and I am not thinking about another project.”
