Fotospor claim Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim is angry with the Super Lig club’s board because they held transfer talks with Manchester City captain David Silva.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Galatasaray have held initial discussions with Silva and it’s reported the 33 year old is seen as a possible option to replace Younes Belhanda, who’s expected to leave.
It’s claimed Terim isn’t impressed the Turkish club are targeting the Manchester City playmaker as he thinks the Spaniard wouldn’t be a good fit for Gala because of his age.
The Istanbul side already have one of the oldest squads in the Super Lig and Fotospor say Terim has told club officials they need to change their strategy in the transfer market by targeting younger players.
Silva will be out of contract at the end of the season, meaning the Manchester City star will be able to speak to other clubs with regards to a pre-contract agreement in the new year.
However, a move to Turkey seems unlikely, regardless of whether Galatasaray are making efforts or not.
He’s now in his 10th season at the Etihad and in that time, and has won four Premier League titles.
