Marca are pretty certain, Luis Enrique is going to be Arsenal’s new manager.

With Arsene Wenger announcing his exit from the Gunners, the current boss is on an extended goodbye, which takes in a match away at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Many potential replacements have been linked with the Premier League club, but perhaps Enrique has been strongest.

For some months the Catalan media have been pushing the former Barca man for the job, and whilst there was a claim last week saying he’d snub the club for Chelsea, it’s still a reasonable route.

Spanish newspaper Marca say, that like all clubs in a similar position and looking for a calm hand, Arsenal considered appointing Carlo Ancelotti. That consideration doesn’t seem to have gone on too long, because Enrique is ‘already on his way to London’ according to the claims.

That’s likely figuratively rather than literally, but, whichever definition and use of the worlds, Marca clearly think Luis Enrique is the man for Arsenal.

It’ll be a change, with Marca saying Enrique simply won’t be the father figure Wenger was to Arsenal’s squad (which may be a good thing) and won’t be so open and easy with the media.
