Currently out on loan at Lyon for the season, Emerson Palmieri could either return to Chelsea once the season is over or stay in France.
The Ligue 1 side are thinking about it, as has been previously reported, but there are a few clubs, including Lazio, that would like to see him go back to the Blues to then have a chance of signing him this summer.
This comes from Citta Celeste, who explain that Maurizio Sarri wants a left back next season and his ‘favourite’ is ‘no longer a secret’.
You might have guessed it, it’s Emerson Palmieri, whom he worked with during their time together at Chelsea.
It’s pointed out the Italy international ‘could definitely change the air’ this summer, since he doesn’t enter Thomas Tuchel’s plans, who only wanted him back in January following the serious injury to Ben Chilwell.
In fact, Sarri has ‘already called’ Palmieri to discuss a potential move, and ‘got the go-ahead’ from the player himself himself.
He’s also supposedly managed to convince Igli Tare about moving for Palmieri, but we’ll have to wait and see if Lazio do spend money on the defender, who won’t come cheap, since he’s arriving from a Premier League club, and will undoubtedly be on big wages.
So far ‘no negotiations have been opened’ with Chelsea or anyone else, but we’re told to ‘pay attention to the next developments’.
