With 11 goals and 4 assists to his name, Torino star Andrea Belotti is making headlines in Italy.
Belotti’s performances caught the eye of several top European clubs, and he’s even been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Arsenal and Leicester City also reportedly showed interest in signing him in the summer, but Torino managed to renew his contract with a €100m release clause.
Manchester United star Matteo Darmian has been speaking to Italian website Toro, and was asked if he’d advise his national teammate Belotti to join Manchester United.
He said: “The way I’m living, yes, I recommend it to him. But I would do it all: It can be positive and constructive, for the life of a footballer. And then the Premier League is seen as the league which is currently the most beautiful in the world.”
Darmian, however, added he is happy that Belotti renewed his contract with Torino, and that he deserves it.
He added: “I’m fortunate to have met Andrea with Italy and he is a great striker, he deserves what he’s doing. I am very happy he renewed with Torino, it means that he is good and that the club believes in him.”
Belotti has also made his way to the Italian national team this season, and has scored 3 goals in 5 appearances.
The 22-year-old would definitely be on the wish-list of several top European clubs should he keep up his good performances.
