Daley Blind moved to Manchester United from Ajax after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He followed former Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal to Old Trafford as the Dutch duo moved to England in the same summer.

The utility player has one year left on his contract and his future now lies away from the Premier League club, if the reports from De Telegraaf are to be believed.

The Dutch publication claims Jose Mourinho’s side and the Eredivisie club have reached an ‘verbal agreement’ for Blind’s transfer fee.

Ajax will re-sign Blind for €16m plus €5m in bonuses and the Dutch international will sign a four-year deal with his former club.

A return to the Johan Cruijff ArenA will help Blind get regular playing time. Former Manchester United player Edwin van der Sar, who is now Ajax’s general manager, tried to lower the transfer fee for his compatriot.

However, the 20-time English champions were unwilling to reduce the price tag because they believe to bring in a new defender, it will cost them €60 million. The report claims United are negotiating with Leicester City for England’s World Cup star Harry Maguire.
