On Tuesday evening, Sky Italia reported Manchester United are looking for a fullback who can play on both sides and have identified Elseid Hysaj as a target.

CalcioNapoli24 now brings the latest update regarding the Red Devils’ interest in the defender, who has two years left on his contract at Napoli.

It is claimed the 25-year-old will not sign an extension and has a release clause of €55m for clubs outside Italy.

The report explains there have been contacts between Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the Albanian’s entourage and United. The latter even looked at the possibility of signing the defender a year ago.

So far, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have not submitted a formal offer, but Manchester United’s ‘intention’ would to ‘put on the table’ a €25m offer.

It remains to be seen whether or not Napoli will accept United’s offer for Hysaj, if they actually submit a formal proposal for him.
