Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan is expected to leave the Bundesliga side this summer or next summer, after failing to agree to a new contract.

Reports in the English and Italian media suggest the player is quite close to a move to Old Trafford, whilst German journalist Rafa Honigstein tweeted on Sunday that Dortmund had sent an official to Manchester.

According to a latest report on German website Ruhr Nachrichten, Mkhitaryan could complete his move to Manchester United in the next few days.

It is reported the Armenian star could cost Manchester United as much as €40m.

Mkhitaryan is set to be offered a four-year contract that’d see him earning €12m per season.

Meanwhile, Dortmund have started to look for alternatives, with reports suggesting Schürrle and Gotze are on their wishlist.

Hans-Joachim Watzke has stated Borussia Dortmund want their personnel sorting out before pre-season training starts, on July 4th.
