Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been happy to talk himself up over his whole career, but has almost always backed his words and attitude up with goals. Prior to the star’s transfer to Manchester United, Ibrahimovic kept the media and fans guessing and was clearly very happy to string everyone along.

The publicity was also used to help Ibrahimovic launch his own clothing brand and at one point the whole thing was almost farcical.

Unfortunately for Ibrahimovic, he hasn’t been able to back all the hype, which he largely pushed himself, up yet. There’s still time for things to change, and it has to be expected they will, but Ibrahimovic is likely to see the pressure pile up if he doesn’t start scoring regularly soon.

The Manchester United star will be well aware of the situation, and that mighty ego is likely to have taken at least a dent or two. Handily, the ego is just about to be massaged according to Swedish newspaper Expressen.

Ibrahimovic will be returning to Sweden on November 21st for the country’s annual Football Gala, at which he’ll be presented with an honorary award for his contribution to Swedish football.

Zlatan may turn it on its head and present an honorary award to Swedish football for its contribution to Zlatan.
