Manchester United are today back to being linked to Benfica striker Gonçalo Ramos.
It’s been a while since the Red Devils were said to be in a strong pursuit for the striker, who had impressive minutes in the World Cup when replacing Cristiano Ronaldo.
It turns out that he continues doing great for Benfica, with a brace scored against Sporting in the Lisbon Derby at the weekend, and now has 17 goals and seven assists for the Eagles this season.
Newspaper O Jogo today features a story about his recent success, and when speaking about a potential contract renewal, Manchester United’s interest is mentioned.
It’s claimed that the player has ‘aroused more and more greed’ from clubs, so Benfica are willing to give him a pay raise and set a new expiry date, since his current deal goes until 2025.
Ramos is protected by a €120m release clause, and that’s expected to be his price tag while he continues doing well.
