A couple of months ago, RMC Sport were the bearer of bad news, claiming that contract talks between Manchester United and Anthony Martial had reached a very low point, with no progress being made.
The French winger, who has developed something of a cult status within the club’s fanbase, has seen his game time drop considerably at Old Trafford since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, and now the same outlet claim the 22-year-old wants to leave the Red Devils at the end of the season.
Per Mohamed Bouhafsi, Martial recently rejected Manchester United’s renewal offer, and has demanded an exit in the summer in order to find himself a new challenge.
The club had offered him a new five-year deal, but the lack of game time has forced him to turn it down, ‘unable to support his current situation any longer’.
RMC also explain his relationship with José Mourinho is ‘rather cold’, another factor he took into account when coming to the decision to leave Old Trafford.
He won’t be short of suitors, either, as Atlético Madrid, Tottenham and Juventus are all said to be interested in his services, and his agent has already been approached by a few clubs to find out what his situation is.
