As Flamengo continue to delay the permanent the signing of Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, it seems there are other clubs now getting interested in the situation.
Globo Esporte today features a piece claiming the Brazilian side still have priority for a deal, as despite not willing to trigger the €20m buying option, they do have an agreement with the Red Devils for a €10m transfer.
However, PSV and Lyon have both made contact to know how the negotiations between both clubs are going, and they wanted to see if there’s any chance the deal will collapse.
It’s claimed Flamengo have no intention on giving up on the deal for the Manchester United midfielder, with president Rodolfo Landim having already told the player that the transfer is happening.
However, they haven’t really defined the situation yet.
And even though Andreas’ priority is also to stay, there are other things weighing on it all, because besides this interest from European football clubs, there’s concern about his situation at Flamengo, since it’s clear that new manager Paulo Sousa is using him less.
So Globo Esporte claims that with Lyon and PSV now joining the scenario, there is, indeed, a chance that the transfer from Manchester United to Flamengo will collapse.
That will, however, depend on how strongly those clubs come for his signing in the summer.
