Bursting onto the scene with a great goal and a tidy performance on the last day of the season against Crystal Palace, Manchester United’s Josh Harrop certainly looked the part.

The 21-year-old was handed his debut by José Mourinho as the Red Devils beat Sam Allardyce’s side 2-0, and many fans were hoping this wouldn’t be the last they see of him in a red shirt.

However, if Yahoo Sport in France are to be believed, they might have to wait at least another year, as Harrop has allegedly been offered to two Ligue 1 sides: Bordeaux and Rennes.

There is no indication as to the nature of the transfer, but you’d expect it to be a loan.

Yet, there is a small twist in this, as the journalist whose information was used by Yahoo!, Manu Lonjon, specified in a separate tweet that it wasn’t Manchester United who were offering the player around.

This would mean that someone else is trying to find the attacking midfielder a move elsewhere, which would ordinarily be an agent, either representing the player, or chancing at building a deal.

Whether that is against the club’s will remains to be seen, but with José Mourinho seemingly prepared to spend big once again to strengthen the squad, it would make sense for some of the youngsters to find another temporary club to try and get some first-team football under their belt.

One to keep an eye on.
