Sport are so wrapped up in the Samuel Umtiti transfer claims that they’ve not just got one story, on a potential Manchester United move, in their Thursday edition, but two separate ones.

Clearly trying to ram home how interested they want everyone to believe Manchester United are, Sport state the club won’t let go of the idea of signing Umtiti because they see it as a ‘bargain’ signing.

The defender has a release clause of €60m and whilst that may not be quite the bargain Sport would have everyone believe, it’s still a good deal.

Manchester United aren’t the only side to have come to this conclusion, with PSG and Bayern Munich, along with other unnamed English clubs, also said to be keen.

Jose Mourinho’s side have had ‘several meetings at the highest level’ to build a strategy to sign Umtiti from the Catalan club, and Sport believes agent commission could help.

The difference between what Umtiti’s representatives would get for a Barcelona renewal and a Manchester United transfer is put forward as huge, and Sport worry that could sway things.

Sport continue to say everything they possibly can on Umtiti to Manchester United, and have completely ignored denials from elsewhere.
