Manchester United are keen to sign Real Madrid’s Casemiro and this week sent emissaries to the Spanish capital to negotiate this operation.
Wednesday saw several reports in Spain discuss the possibility of the midfielder leaving the La Liga winners.
There were mixed claims about the 30-year-old’s future after Manchester United showed interest in him.
Mundo Deportivo‘s Thursday edition states there is a ‘Casemiro case’ at the Bernabéu. Initially, he didn’t want to know anything about the Red Devils, but the situation has completely changed.
The player no longer sees it as given he’ll continue at his current club, even though Carlo Ancelotti considers him non-transferable as he is vital to the manager’s plans. ‘Everything depends’ on what Manchester United will put on the plate and the Brazil international’s decision.
Manchester United are ‘willing to offer’ him an annual salary of €18m and a five-year deal to take him away from Real Madrid. This would make him the fourth highest paid player in the Premier League, after Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni could take over the midfield at Real Madrid in the not-too-distant future, including Casemiro’s place. This is something that could influence the South American’s final decision.
At the moment, Manchester United have not made an offer for Casemiro, but the Spanish champions are attentive because it could arrive at any moment.
Ancelotti’s side didn’t contemplate the Brazilian’s sale, but the situation could change and make them think if they were to receive a lot of money. That figure, as per Onda Cero, is around €70m.
Mundo end their report by stating: ‘This is the situation of the future of the Madrid footballer. Los Blancos since the transfer market opened have always given the same message: it’s going to be a long summer and anything can happen. And among what could happen is Casemiro’s departure for United.’
