Despite Manchester United’s urge for new signings, the Red Devils reportedly ‘will not rush’ to make a new attempt for one of their top targets for the summer.
This information is today brought by Goal Brasil, who says Erik ten Hag’s side should only make an effort for the signing of Antony, from Ajax, in the final days of the transfer window.
It’s claimed that Manchester United already placed a bid of over €60m that was turned down by the Dutch side.
Now as they demand €80m, the Red Devils believe they could find a cheaper deal if they wait for the ‘final stretch’ of the transfer window.
Antony is said to be a ‘direct request’ of Erik ten Hag, who already worked with him at Ajax.
The player, however, is said not to be keen on forcing his way out or creating a bad mood between him and the club, and that’s why he’s only waiting for the situation to develop.
The Brazilian already has two goals and two assists for Ajax this season.
That’s probably some proof he could help Manchester United, who could only score one goal (an own goal courtesy of Brighton) in their first two Premier League games in 2022/23.
