Earlier today, Sport1 reported Manchester United would need an offer of €15-20m to sign Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in the summer window.
Bild have a fresh report discussing the Red Devils interest and the German club’s plans for the 32-year-old. They face Werder Bremen on Sunday and it may be his last appearance, if a move to Old Trafford were to materialise.
Eintracht Frankfurt have so far not received an offer from Manchester United and are fighting to retain him at the club. This has been confirmed by their manager, Oliver Glasner, and now by their sporting director, Markus Krösche
“We have no intention of giving up Kevin. On the contrary: we plan with him for the long term,” Krösche told Bild.
His deal runs down in 2024 and he currently earns €3.5m per year. His employer’s desire is to offer the custodian a pay rise and tie him to a new deal until 2026. A move to Manchester United could see the Germany international earn about €8m annually, according to Bild.
Eintracht Frankfurt have a ‘pain threshold of €25m’.
Bild questions whether the English club would pay this fee to sign Trapp. A ‘decision must be made’ before the weekend, meaning there will be clarity on this case in the next few days.
If Sport1 and Bild’s reports are compared, the keeper’s asking price is increasing.
