It’s no secret that Flamengo currently have officials in Europe negotiating with Manchester United for the permanent transfer of Andreas Pereira.
The Brazilian side have had representatives in England since Friday, and we now get to see the first updates of how the talks have been going.
There are two versions coming from reliable outlets. One of them is from Globo Esporte, which says the clubs are now getting closer to an agreement.
Their report claims that at this moment, Manchester United demand €10.5m for the move, while Flamengo don’t want to spend over €9m.
With Pereira’s loan, there had been a buying option worth €20m, and the Brazilian side had first made a bid of €8m, which was turned down by the Red Devils, and they continue to negotiate.
It’s said Man United’s counter offer was of €14m for the total, and they could keep 25% of a future sale in case Flamengo only want to pay €10.5m. The Brazilian side, however, want the full transfer to be worth €12m, paying €9m and leaving the 25% to the Old Trafford club.
Globo Esporte says new talks are set to happen today, and the deal is said to be ‘a game of patience and imminent’.
Meanwhile, UOL sounds a little more optimistic about it. They say there’s a ‘verbal agreement’ between Flamengo and Manchester United for the Brazilian side to buy 75% of the player.
It’s claimed there’s a deal worth a total of €14m, with Flamengo paying ‘a good part of it’ now, and the rest depending on performance bonuses.
UOL says Pereira is set to sign a contract with Flamengo until 2026, sounding very sure this permanent transfer will be concluded soon.
So it indeed looks like a matter of time until it’s done, even though each report comes up with different information which should be made clearer in the coming days.
