This week, the Brazilian media reported that Flamengo would hold a meeting on Wednesday to finally take a decision on the future of Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira.

It turns out that, according to local reports, the talks did happen, however, different reliable outlets are coming out with conflicting versions of it.

One of the stories comes from journalist Venê Casagrande. He claims the decision is taken, and Pereira ‘will not be bought’ by Flamengo this summer. It’s said he’s staying at the Rio de Janeiro side until the end of the loan spell, and returns to Manchester United in July.

Casagrande claims the Brazilian side even tried to extend the loan until December, and the Red Devils turned it down, claiming they have an offer to sell him this window. It’s said the bid is bigger than the amount agreed with Flamengo, which was €10.5m.

Meanwhile, Goal Brasil writes that Andreas Pereira asked Flamengo if he can stay and ‘should have his request answered’. So the club now work to get a discount on the purchase or extend the loan until the summer of 2022.

Along with the midfielder’s staff, officials from the Brazilian side are now set to speak to Manchester United and see what can be done. They’re know they can’t pay the €10.5m previously agreed.

Since the loan expires in a couple of weeks, we should soon see which report is right.
