It seems that Juventus continue to be strong in the race for the Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian.
After months chasing him, the Old Lady are now closer to getting the signing, according to reports from Tuttosport.
The newspaper claims the approval from the player was given some time ago, and now Juve try to sort out a deal with Manchester United, expecting the ‘white smoke’ to be out soon.
Interesting thing is now that Mario Madzukic also gets a mention in these stories. The talks between the clubs would now be including other subjects, and the Croatian international would be one of them.
Tuttosport doesn’t mention how much Juve would pay for Darmian, or United for Mandzukic, or if it would be a swap (unlikely). They just say that these players are being discussed in the ‘daily contacts’ between the clubs.
So even though Darmian’s transfer to the Old Lady has seemed obvious for the past couple of months, maybe things could get interesting with José Mourinho’s interest in Mandzukic.
