Ante Rebic is very much a man of the moment. Starring for Croatia at the World Cup, transfer rumours have been building around Europe.
It’s a big change for the 24 year old who had struggled to impose himself at Fiorentina after his move from RNK Split. Loans followed and he was sent on to RB Leipzig, Hellas Verona and then Eintracht Frankfurt.
The last move brought a better period for Rebic and Eintracht have used a clause to make the transfer a permanent one.
Croatia’s 24Sata newspaper says Rebic is attracting transfer interest from several big clubs. They say PSG, Tottenham and Manchester want the player, and estimate a transfer fee at around €30m.
One of the men who helped Rebic early in his career, Branislav Škeva Mićo, is quoted as saying: “It used to be said before: Ante Rebic is the Messi from Vinjana Donjih. Now it’s that Messi is the Rebic from Rosario.”
On June 20th, we covered claims from Germany that Tottenham are keen on the player, and the €30m figure was also used then.
This is the first time we’ve seen Manchester United linked recently.
