Kevin Trapp’s future is ‘the topic’ at Eintracht Frankfurt as Manchester United have come forward to sign the goalkeeper.

That’s according Sport1, who explain the Red Devils want to lure the 32-year-old to Old Trafford before the window closes.

To do this, the Bundesliga side must agree to sell the keeper, and as it stands they absolutely want to retain him.

Manchester United would have to make an ‘immoral offer’ in order to change their mind. The Germany international’s sale to the Red Devils could be ‘conceivable’ for a fee of €15-20m.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Erik ten Hag’s side had not made an official offer to Eintracht Frankfurt. This was echoed by their sporting director, Markus Krösche, who was speaking to Amazon Prime.

“The facts are clear. There is no offer. Kevin is playing in the Champions League with us,” Krösche said.

Sport1 add Manchester United have not made contact with the German club to sign Trapp. His contract runs down in 2024 and Eintracht Frankfurt want to offer him a new deal with a pay rise on his current €3.5m per year.

The Premier League side, on the other hand, are trying to tempt the player with an annual salary of €10-11m.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner has expressed his desire to retain the goalkeeper, but admitted the final decision isn’t in his hands.

“I’m not the last decision-maker, Kevin and the club have to decide that in the end. From a sporting point of view, I would of course like to keep such a great keeper and person. He’s a great role model. Always one of the first in training,” Glasner told SportBild.
