Manchester United have been warned Real Sociedad will fight ‘tooth and nail’ to keep Alexander Isak his summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say it is ‘considered impossible’ for any club to pay the striker’s €90m release clause.
Isak is highly thought of around Europe, having been considered a top talent from a young age, with some even labelling him the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He’s not hit those heights but still impressed, especially since joining Real Sociedad, where has 41 goals and eight assists in 122 games to date.
He’s struggled for form this season with just four goals in La Liga to his name, but that has not stopped the rumours from circulating.
Manchester United have been brought into the mix in the last few months, with reports in Spain stating that they are ‘literally fighting’ to get him, having watched him ‘closely’ for a while.
Mundo, however, state it will be difficult to get Isak this summer as Sociedad chief Jokin Aperribay has no intention of losing his star man.
He will fight ‘tooth and nail’ to keep his prized asset and will never ‘give away’ the player, who he considers a top asset.
At Anoeta, they still consider him to be their first-choice striker, and if negotiations were to start for him, they would demand his €90m release clause be matched.
That’s a figure which is ‘considered impossible’ for any club to pay as reliable sources at the club even believe his current value is ‘well below’ that figure.
Thus there is little chance of the likes of Manchester United offering that figure, so negotiations will have to be held if they do want the Swedish star.
Either way, those negotiations will be ‘tough’ as Real Sociedad don’t want to sell and Aperribay and those around him at the high levels of the club plan to treat any bids they don’t deem ‘appropriate’ with short shrift.
