Between now and the close of the summer transfer window, AS Monaco are going to have several players repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League.
Manchester United have so far been the favoured destination, due to personal relationships and good contacts between people at both football clubs. Jose Mourinho’s men are unlikely to be the only club repeatedly linked, and Monaco facing Manchester City in the Champions League provides a opportunity for players to have an excellent platform to attract buyers.
L’Equipe have a feature in their Monday edition and pick out several players, price them, and look at who is interested. The French newspaper believe Monaco would get the best price from the Premier League, and a price is put at €50m to €60m.
Manchester United were linked earlier this month, when Le10 Sport reported that the clubs had already commenced talks, insinuating that a deal wasn’t too far away to take Silva to Old Trafford.
That was quite possibly jumping the gun, but a good performance against Manchester City would only push the rumours further.
A scout is quoted as saying Silva is ‘perhaps the best’ player in France’s Ligue 1.
