Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Mexican international Hirving Lozano. Media in Mexico have claimed the Pachuca winger is ‘very close’ to signing for Manchester United, and there’s quite some excitement in the country about the prospect.
Pachuca’s president Andres Fassi has confirmed to ESPN that they’re in negotiations with the Premier League giants for their star player.
“Is there already a negotiation with that team? Yes. There is still nothing done,” Fassi told ESPN.
Reports suggest a deal for Lozano could be completed after the Olympics, with Mexico looking to defend their gold medal.
Friday saw several claims from Mexico that Manchester United had agreed a deal to sign the 20 year old attacker, with his father in law apparently giving the game away. However, some of those reports were then deleted, quite an odd situation.
Lozano scored 12 goals in 47 appearances last season, and is also followed by Porto.
