Did you know Paul Pogba has a brother called Mathias?
You should, because all he seems to do is talk about the Manchester United midfielder on Spanish television, or, at least, that’s what it feels like.
The forward, who is contracted to Manchego CF in Spain, is a regular guest on El Chiringuito TV, and every time he goes on, he brings up his brother.
This time around, Federico Valverde was the trigger, as the 21-year-old has started the past three games for Real Madrid, with whom Paul Pogba was heavily linked over the summer.
The panel were discussing whether or not the fact Zinedine Zidane never managed to get the Manchester United star was his problem, which Mathias disagreed with, and Valverde was then brought up, as he’s playing a role that could be similar to where the Frenchman would have featured had he signed.
Then came the inevitable comparison.
Mathias Pogba said: “Of course [he’s better than Valverde]. My brother is better than Valverde technically, and has better vision of the game.”
He was then asked where Valverde was better than Pogba, but he explained he couldn’t say yet, because he hasn’t scored goals and only provided one assist.
Basically, it’s too soon to tell, and ‘right now, my brother is better’.
