We can’t have many days in recent months without news from the South American press regarding the future of Edinson Cavani.

There hadn’t been a single update on the situation of the Manchester United star since the weekend, and we finally see something coming from Argentine outlet Depo today.

This time, they’re claiming that the striker has once again stated his desire to leave the Premier League side and return to South America.

Depo says that in the past few hours, Cavani had a meeting ‘with those in charge of handling the Red Devils’ sports destination’, and talked about the desire of being closer to his family.

Depo points out that despite the Brazilian clubs looking for his signing, Cavani has been in talks with Boca Juniors since last year, and promised the Argentine side he’d sign for them in case he really returns to South America.

This is the same website who, last week, claimed that Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez had advised the striker to stay at Manchester United for at least one more year.

They now say the 34-year-old is going against the coach’s will by seeking a move back to South America.
