Bruno Fernandes is one of the Manchester United players who spoke this week to the South American media, in an interview with DAZN.

With the Red Devils currently in fourth place in the Premier League, currently fighting to stay in the zone of qualification for the Champions League, the midfielder claimed they deserve a little more than that.

“I think we are at the level of the others and that we can do better than we are doing,” Bruno Fernandes told DAZN.

“I want to fight to be first and I think that a club like this has to fight to be up there. This club cannot stay out of the Champions League”.

The 27-year-old also talked about his Portuguese teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, commenting on the privilege of ‘learning’ from his compatriot.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a player that I have always followed a lot, whom I have had as a reference, and having him here is like being very lucky. It is something that cannot be paid to have him. I have to enjoy and learn”.

Bruno Fernandes has nine goals and 14 assists in 34 appearances for Manchester United this season, and despite claiming he’s in good form, the midfielder still believes he can improve.

“I’m fine, I’m having a regular season. Obviously I think I can still do more. I always ask for more of myself. I always want to do more. My goals are to help the team, get into the top four and go to the end in the Champions League. Personally, improve my numbers, but the main thing is to help the team achieve its goals.”

Following Manchester United’s draw against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this week, Ralf Rangnick’s side now prepare to play Watford in the Premier League.

That game will be followed by a tough sequence against the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, the return leg against Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
