Spanish outlet AS are sounding somewhat confident that Manchester United and Real Madrid could line up a swap deal this summer.
They feature a story today claiming that with the Red Devils being interested in the signing of Raphael Varane, this could be an opportunity for Paul Pogba to finally get his move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The midfielder has been linked to the La Liga giants for a long time, and according to AS’ latest update, he’d be ‘delighted’ to sign the ‘last big contract of his career’ with Real Madrid.
Pogba’s current deal with Manchester United expires next year, and he’s reportedly waiting for the end of the Euros to engage in talks for a renewal with the Old Trafford side.
For that to happen, however, his entourage suggest there would be a need for a good sporting project rather than simply money thrown at the problem.
However, in case there’s the chance to join Real Madrid, then ‘everything would change’ for him, as he’d finally be able to fulfil his dream of playing for the Spanish side.
AS says the operation is ‘feasible’, especially because the Old Trafford giants don’t want to spend a big amount to sign the defender.
