Over the weekend, The Daily Mail reported Manchester United are ‘pushing to wrap up’ a deal to sign Carlos Soler from Valencia.

Jose Mourinho was said to see Soler as someone to play in a three with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, and Manchester United were looking at £30m to sign the 20 year old.

These claims quickly made their way to Valencia, and regional newspaper Super Deporte. All is happy in Valencia at the moment, with five wins in five and 21 goals scored along the way, so Super Deporte weren’t too afraid to take this story and ask the club what’s going on.

The Daily Mail had claimed Manchester United and Valencia talks were already underway, something the Spanish club deny. Super Deporte say the answer from Valencia couldn’t be clearer: “We have no negotiations with anyone for any player in the team.”

Aside from that, Super Deporte say it would be ‘complicated’ for Manchester United to sign Soler for £30m, given his buyout clause is €80m.

Carlos Soler has been included in Marca’s La Liga Team of the Week, after a good performance in the 4-0 win over Sevilla.
