Wednesday’s edition of Marca goes big on Real Madrid interest in Eder Militao.
The FC Porto defender has seen his reputation rocket this season, and Manchester United have been repeatedly and seriously linked with a move for the player.
Initially, interest from Old Trafford was said to be being drive by Jose Mourinho but claims haven’t slowed down since the manager left Manchester.
Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been linked to a lesser extent, and it’s the former now being pushed heavily.
Militao gets the front page of Marca plus the next two and it’s explained that rather than being just one of a number of targets, he’s now the favourite to be signed… something which could change.
At this point it would be expected for Marca to hold Manchester United high as their competition and whilst they do reference interest it’s claimed the Premier League club are ‘about to sign’ Kostas Manolas instead.
Just like that.
There’s a reasonable chance that Marca have made that assumption from reports elsewhere, or they may have learned it from Madrid’s efforts to see the Militao situation.
The return of Pepe to Porto is thought to make a Militao exit easier.
