According to Turkish newspaper Sozcu, Manchester United are following Fenerbahce’s young goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
The 21 year old joined the Turkish side from Ankaragucu last summer for €1.5m after impressing for his local club.
It’s reported Manchester United’s chief scout and his team are closely following the progress of the Turkish goalkeeper, with claims they watched him in action last weekend when Fener met Gaziantep FK in the Super Lig.
Sozcu report the Premier League side have been impressed with Bayindir’s performances this season and they’ve also requested his training statistics, along with other relevant data from Fener.
Fenerbahce are reportedly waiting for an offer to come in for Bayindir at the end of the season, and the final decision on a transfer will depend on the financial level offered to them.
Bayindir has played every minute for Fenerbahce in the league this season, keeping four clean sheets in 18 matches.
It wouldn’t make great sense for the goalkeeper to join Manchester United just to go out on loan elsewhere, considering he’s getting regular football at the moment for a big club. Therefore, it would be surprising to see this interest turn into an actual transfer.
His contract with the Yellow Canaries will expire at the end of June 2023.
