With Manchester United’s notable scouting job in Portugal, where club emissaries are often spotted, it’s always interesting when we finally get to know who their targets are.
Today we get to see exciting claims from newspaper Record, who says the Red Devils are one of the clubs keeping an eye on SC Braga defender David Carmo.
The outlet claims that in the Minhoto’s match against Porto, several sides sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old, and Manchester United were one of them.
The Old Trafford side, however, were followed by heavy competition, as clubs from Spain, Italy and England, including Liverpool, were there evaluating his performance as well.
Record claims Carmo has indeed been receiving many polls, and when consulted, Braga always point out to his release clause, which is €40m. They claim that even if a deal is found for less, the discount wouldn’t be so big, as the Portuguese side feel like they have a ‘golden opportunity’ to make a big sale with him.
It’s well known that the defender had a severe injury which sidelined him for nearly a year. Still, he was able to prove himself again in the past few months, and according to the story, his club believe he’s in better physical and mental condition than before.
