Manchester United will send a scout to watch Fenerbahce forward Vedat Muriqi on Monday night, report Turkish newspaper Fanatik.
It’s claimed United’s Eastern European scout Krsto Kilibarda will travel to Alanya to monitor the Kosovo forward, when Fener go up against Alanyaspor in the Super Lig.
This will not be his first ever experience in Turkey, say Fanatik, with reports he also watched Roma winger Cengiz Under when he was playing for Medipol Başakşehir.
Fanatik report the Manchester United official will then send a report back to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and if the Norwegian coach gives the nod then the Premier League side ‘will push the button’ to sign him.
The English side allowed Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku to leave for Serie A during the summer transfer which has left them light in attack. Today Solskjaer confirmed Anthony Martial has been ruled out of this weekend’s game against Leicester City, leaving him with just Marcus Rashford and 17 year old Mason Greenwood for the central attacking role.
Muriqi impressed against England this week after he scored one and assisted the other two in his country’s 5-3 defeat.
He’s also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent days following reports Spurs’ chief scout Steve Hitchen was present at St Mary’s on Tuesday night.
