The race for Sporting youngster Nuno Mendes is once again detailed by Portuguese newspaper Record today.
The report claims that the ‘European sharks’ are fighting for the signing of the 18-year-old, with the likes of Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United all interested in him.
It turns out the outlet has something specific to say about the Red Devils, as a week ago, they had already claimed the possibility of a deal involving Alex Telles.
This time, Record insist the Brazilian could be on the table for a swap, but they point out, however, that the Manchester United player would like to wait until the end of the season so he can evaluate his situation at Old Trafford and then take a decision on his future.
Record is the outlet who started the Alex Telles rumours and it’s no surprise that they stick by their information.
It’s also worth pointing out that the player’s exit from Old Trafford has also been dismissed by reports from the Portuguese and the Brazilian media this week.
Meanwhile, Nuno Mendes is protected by a release clause of €70m, and given how much Sporting rate him as well as the competition for his signing, it makes sense that clubs will use every argument in the book to try and bring his price down a little.
