Back at the start of the year, when Palmeiras won the Copa Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil, many of their young talents started getting linked to European giants.
One of them was Gabriel Veron, who at one point, was said to be sold to either Manchester City or Manchester United on a €50m deal.
Well, it’s been over three months since those claims, and the situation has changed a lot.
Today, the news comes from the Italian media, who claim Veron could be on his way to Serie A.
Website Calciomercato.it writes that Sassuolo have ‘accelerated’ to sign the player and are making ‘strong pressure’ on Palmeiras.
The story says the Brazilian side are initially demanding €20m for the winger, but a deal could end up being found for between €15 and €16m, which is more than affordable for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
But Sassuolo are obviously not alone in the race, as Calciomercato highlights the fact that he has admirers in the Premier League, with ‘Manchester United in the front row’.
That’s all they have to say about the interest from the Red Devils, who apparently should hurry up, because news on Sassuolo’s effort could arrive ‘within a few days’.
