There was a time where Paul Pogba wasn’t the big story of the transfer window.

Let’s take you back to the beginning of June, when all the attention was turned towards Alvaro Morata’s future, with many clubs allegedly ready to bid up to £60m for the Spanish striker.

The forward was bought back from Juventus by Real Madrid thanks to a clever clause in the original transfer agreement, and the player hasn’t moved since.

However, that doesn’t mean he wants to stay at Real Madrid, as El Confidencial explain in a long article on his situation at the La Liga club on Wednesday.

Fully aware that his game time will be limited with the galactico trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema ahead of him, the player would rather move elsewhere.

In fact, the striker is said to have told his close ones he doesn’t want to ‘die of boredom’ on Madrid’s bench.

This is where the Premier League comes in, the only competition with clubs capable of meeting Real Madrid’s frankly ludicrous €70m asking price, and Manchester United appear to be part of the list.

The Spanish newspaper states that, through Jorge Mendes, José Mourinho’s club have told Real Madrid they will remain interested, but they will not match the asking price.

El Confidencial do, however, say they would be willing to pay €55m if Real Madrid agreed to this.

Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to have an interest, and with both those teams needing a striker more than United (Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford), it seems likelier the Spaniard would move there instead.
