In the past week, reports from the English media have been claiming that Manchester United are now interested in the signing of Barcelona players Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay.
Spanish outlet Fichajes features a story about it today, first presenting the situation of each player.
The website claims De Jong isn’t ‘comfortable’ at Barcelona and ‘everything seems to indicate’ that he’d leave if a good offer arrives.
That’s something similar to the situation of former Manchester United winger Depay, who Barcelona want to sell, so they get more money to invest in the summer.
Then Fichajes does something unusual, which is to point out that a new piece was information was exclusively learned by them.
According to what the website have been able to get, Manchester United are ‘ready to make a first offer of €100m’ for the duo.
It’s claimed that the possibility of a swap could be on the table as well, with the names of Alex Telles and Scott McTominay being mentioned as a couple of possibilities for the Camp Nou side, although that seems somewhat unlikely.
What Fichajes don’t know is if Barcelona would take that offer, as they wonder if this kind of operation would ‘favour’ the La Liga giants this summer.
