On Wednesday, Paul Pogba admitted it is everyone’s ‘dream’ to join Real Madrid, but stressed that he is happy at Manchester United.
The first part of the above sentence caught a lot of attention, particularly in the Spanish press, and today’s edition of AS claim he’s possibly opened the door for a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Over the past few transfer windows, especially the summer ones, Red Devils supporters have been used to Gareth Bale rumours.
They’ve found them hugely exciting and not at all repetitive.
AS brings it back once again and claims the Wales international ‘may be the key’ in helping Los Blancos land Pogba.
Florentino Perez has been a huge fan of the former Tottenham Hotspur man and has worked to keep him at the club over the years, despite his injuries and pereceived irregular performance.
But that could change following the return of Zinedine Zidane and Bale has, allegedly, never been a fan of his manager.
The report claims the La Liga giants are expecting ‘good offers’ from England for the 29-year-old. With them potentially chasing Pogba, and if Manchester United are still interested in Bale, it could open the door for a swap deal in the summer.
United have been pushed forward once again for Bale’s transfer, but AS does not go on to give details, or say if the player is interested in making a switch to Old Trafford and/or if the 20-time English champions are still interested in the forward.
If both Bale and United are keen on the transfer, it is not necessary that Pogba has to go in the opposite direction.
This rumour was inevitable from the moment Pogba said ‘dream’ and ‘Real Madrid’ in the same sentence.
