Pau Torres has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United as the English club are reportedly in the market looking for a new partner for Harry Maguire.
Last weekend, the Villarreal defender admitted the rumours of interest from top clubs like the Red Devils gives him ‘pride’.
Apart from the Old Trafford club, Real Madrid are also credited with an interest in the 24-year-old.
Journalist Antón Meana provided an update on the Spain international during Cadena Ser’s El Larguero, and his information places the centre-back close to the Premier League side.
According to Meana, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are pushing to close the signing of the Yellow Submarine player.

Unai Emery’s man is also on Real Madrid’s agenda for the summer. Despite the interest from Los Blancos and elsewhere, the journalist states other suitors have ‘resigned’ because Manchester United are ‘very advanced’ in their efforts to secure Torres’ signature.
Meana’s claims on Torres come a day after AS reported Sevilla star Jules Koundé has overtaken Torres as the main centre-back target for Real Madrid in the summer.
