Earlier today, we covered claims made by journalist Carlos Bustillo that Raphaël Varane doesn’t favour signing a new contract at Real Madrid and ‘wants to go to Manchester United’.
Bustillo also reported the defender’s representatives are already in negotiations with the Red Devils.
The 28-year-old has entered his final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabéu. Los Blancos want to tie him down to a new deal, while he is also wanted by the Premier League side.
Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard took to Twitter to discuss the France international’s situation.
He states the La Liga side have wanting to extend the centre-back’s contract for a while now, but there hasn’t been any progress because the 28-year-old’s ‘reluctance’ to commit to a long-term deal.

Therefore, Real Madrid ‘do not intend to oppose his departure’ this summer, if they receive a reasonable offer.
Maynard also mentions Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and states United are ‘preparing a first proposal’ to sign Varane.
With two reports in favour of United, one could expect the deal to bring Varane to Old Trafford is on the right track.
